หลังจากที่ห่างหายไปนาน คอลัมน์ Interview ก็กลับมาอีกครั้ง
มาคราวนี้เราจะแนะนำเพื่อนอีกคนจาก AFS ประเทศนิวซีแลนด์
“แอน” เป็นชาวเมืองน่าน ไป AFS และเรียนจบที่คณะแพทย์ฯ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น
แต่งงานแล้ว และตอนนี้ก็เรียนอยู่ที่ University of Hawaii
อยากรู้จักแอนมากขึ้น เข้าไปอ่านด้านในได้เลยจ้า..

ก่อนอื่นอยากจะบอกเพื่อนๆที่เข้ามาอ่านนะ การสัมภาษณ์ครั้งนี้เป็นการสัมภาษณ์แบบข้ามทวีป เราจึงต้องส่งคำถามให้แอนซึ่งอยู่ที่ฮาวาย
และเนื่องจากแอนไม่สามารถ download thai fonts ได้ แอนเลยพิมพ์เป็นภาษาอังกฤษมาให้จ้ะ

• เริ่มเลยละกันนะ ก่อนไป AFS แอนอยู่โรงเรียนอะไร

Sa School, there was just only me in that year from my school joining AFS.

• ทำไมแอนถึงสมัคร AFS

Just would like to do something challenging and practice my English. The important reason is boarded my mind to see another world rather up North of Thailand.

• แอนสอบ AFS ที่ไหน

Paper test at my School and interview examination was at Satree See Nan School in Town.

• มีเพื่อนในห้องสัมภาษณ์คนไหนที่จำได้บ้าง

Bhee who went to USA.

• ไป Orientation Camp ที่ไหน สนุกไม๊

at Pataya. It was awesome for meeting many new friends there. As I could remember, it was orientation camp for Japan, Australia and New Zealand groups.

• วันขึ้นเครื่องบรรยากาศเป็นอย่างไร มีใครมาส่งบ้าง

It was a little bit exciting and mysterious as I wasn’t sure about my decision going abroad at that time. Especially, I saw my mum cried as I wouldn’t see her for almost a year. My parents, my sister and a couple of my friends were at the airport to see me off.

• แล้วตอนเดินทางเป็นยังไงบ้างจ๊ะ

Wow, NZ weather is so fresh and beautiful. We had to stay together at the AFS camp for a couple days till our family picking us up. It was first time getting to know each other well among Thai student going to NZ at that time.

• มีเพื่อน AFS จากประเทศไทยอยู่ในเมืองเดียวกันหรือเปล่า

Yes, There are Tor, Toey and Nid. Nid stayed closest to me at that time, so we called and chatted to each other quite often. Sometime I went to stay with Nid’s family, they were so nice people.

• ตอนไปเจอ Host Family ครั้งแรกรู้สึกยังไงบ้าง

My feeling was excited and confused..hehe, as I hardly could understand my host family talking in Kiwi accent.

• แล้ว Host Family เป็นยังไงบ้าง

There were three members in my host family; mum, dad and Burmese cat. That’s all. They don’t have any kids. Thus, friends and any activities were the most important for me at that time as my host family working during the week day and spent time with me just only weekend.

• แล้วโรงเรียนล่ะ

I studied at Takapuna Grammar School. It’s mixed High School. I attended Form 7 which is equivalent to Mor 6 in Thai.

• วันแรกที่ไปโรงเรียนเป็นยังไงบ้าง

Mum took me there ( after that I have to ride bicycle to school) Nobody interested at me at all as I expected. Personally, I was shy and quiet girl. At that situation, I had to talk and speak out to make friends.

• เรียนวิชาอะไรบ้าง

Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, Home Economic and Physical Education

• แล้วอยู่ที่นู่น แต่ละวันทำอะไรบ้าง

go to school, after school I either hanged around with friends or went back home lonely. Weekend: Went out doing some activities with family.

• งานอดิเรกล่ะ

reading, running, swimming and gardening

• มี AFS Camp หรือเปล่า

2 times.Oh no, I can’t remember where they were happened. Anyway, it was great time ever as I had more chance to see new friend from other country and met Thai friends again. I met Ton, Peep, Nid. The End of the Year camp was excellent also as it was huge and bigger that the first one. Absolutely, I met Nid, Tor, Toey, Ton, Peep, Chompoo there, we had very great time.

• ได้ไปเที่ยวที่ไหนบ้าง

Up north of Auckland with School camp. Rotorua, seeing boiled mud. And Christchurch.

At downtown of Pittsburgh

• เหตุการณ์ประทับใจของปี

- Form 7 camp with school, we had to stay in the same tent together, 20 of us. No shower for a week, just only swimming in morning freezing water.

- Got drunk in Graduation party, first time ever.

- Falling in love with Norwegian guy and got broken heart later on, also first time..hehe.

- Gaining 20 kg since I ‘d been NZ.

- Being one member in girl touch rugby school team, even though we lost.

• ตอนกลับจาก AFS กลับมาวันแรกรู้สึกอย่างไรบ้าง

Thailand was so hot and miss NZ.

• แล้วกลับไปเรียนที่โรงเรียนเดิมหรือเปล่า

I went back to my same school and applied Entrance Exam. I got in to Science Faculty at Chiang Mai University in my first Entrance exam. Year later, I decided to sit on the exam again and could be in Medical school at Medicine faculty of Konkaen University.

• มีเพื่อน AFS ที่เรียนด้วยกันหรือไม่

• เรียนจบแล้วทำอะไรต่อ

After Medical School, I worked for government for 2 years at my hometown, Nan. I was fun and challenging as I had to do all the general doctor had to do : surgery, birth delivery, orthopedic, etc. In third year of my career I got married with my senior from other University. Consequently, we moved to Bangkok for my husband’s aboard specialty examination. I worked at Vejthani hospital for 1 year as general practice doctor, then I applied exam to study Internal medicine specialty at USA.

I like wearing scrub duing working as it’’s so comfortable and doesn”t need ironing

Now I study Internal medicine at University of Hawaii which would be 3 years period. It’s kind of working and learning with the program. I have patients to take care as inpatient and outpatient with attending supervise every step. The way to manage for patient care almost comes from text books which is great and always up date. But document about patient has to be very detailed if we compare to Thailand. I am stress out easily lately, but keep tell myself that I can do it…hehe

• แอนคิดว่าแอนเป็นคนอย่างไร เล่าให้ฟังหน่อยเพื่อนๆจะได้รู้จักมากขึ้น

I think I am personally shy, have low confidence sometime which I have to improve this personality a lot.

• ชอบอะไรและไม่ชอบอะไรบ้าง

I like cooking, joining Gym, hiking and playing game( Do u believe that?) especially, Final Fantacy XI online. I don’t like liar, absolutely.

• Lifestyle ในปัจจุบัน

Ordinary and simple. I always need more time than 24 hours a day for working and rest. Most of my time is at hospital and apartment. After getting married, I always spend time with my husband as much as I can. Because we don’t have much time during the day as we are always keep busy with work. Recently, he is doing Critical care fellowship training ( ICU doctor) at Pittsburgh where is so far away from Hawaii, about 7-8 hours by plane. I am just counting the day for him to finish within 2 years and we will stay together again.
